James’ music draws largely from determination, honesty and authenticity to propel his musical direction. Infusing it’s lyrics with soaring call-to-action vocals laced with rap and tenor-flecked melodies, cues are taken from soul, blues, hip hop and indiefunk as well as diverse influences that count John Mayer, Nirvana and Al Green.

After his single ‘OVERDRIVE’ was selected to soundtrack GMC’s North American 2023 campaign, James’ work has received online tastemaker support from Complex, Earmilk, Indie Shuffle and CLASH, to name but a few, as well as three Record Of The Day features.
